Berwick beat Jed 7-2, Duns win by default as Hawick fail to raise a
full team.
Berwick are Border League champions for 2010
Berwick gave Jed a lesson in badminton to claim this years Border
League Championship 2009-2010. With an unblemished record, never
having lost any matches, Berwick were the favourites to win from the
outset. Consistently good play throughout the season and with fewer
team changes than any of the other teams, Berwick deserve their well
earned victory. Jedburgh who were competing for the championship
against Berwick last season have experienced a reversal of fortune
not winning any of their matches and ending up bottom of the league.
Concerning too is the fact that Hawick and Gala combined could not
produce a full team to take on Duns in the last match of the season.
The positions in the table would not have altered even if Hawick had
played and beat Duns. Let's hope we still have all four teams
competing next season.
